Professional Experience
Over the course of my career in Special Education, I have worked in a variety of positions and have become an expert in several areas crucial for student success. My experience gives me a concrete understanding of complex school systems and a unique ability to navigate those systems.
I have worked with children since 2004 and have worked in Special Education since 2006. I have experience in San Francisco, Daly City, and Oakland public schools as a paraprofessional (four years), special education teacher (10 years), and special education instructional coach/program specialist (two years). I have been working in my current role as a Family Education Consultant since the fall of 2022, supporting families with students in Pre-K to 12th grade across many school districts in the Bay Area and beyond.
While the majority of my teaching experience was in middle schools working with students with mild to moderate disabilities, I also have experience working in elementary and high schools, as well as with students without IEPs and students with extensive disabilities. I have expertise working with students with unique needs in the areas of executive function, social-emotional behavior, and mental health, including students with ADHD, autism, and other learning differences.Â
